I got this inspiration from this blog Love 2 create, blog-hop
I thought this would be a great project to begin the new year to keep all my thoughts, ideas and to-dos close at hand. The artist purchased these note books at staples, 3 for $1. I will be on the hunt to see what I can find.
I think its comforting to coordinate the papers with something that is inspirational and puts me in a happy place, I will post the finished product and show you what I came up with. My go to papers are typically vintage inspired.
I'm a working professional, who is trying to be the best Mother and Wife that I can be by creating a happy, warm home that is inspired by casual elegance. I will try to journal those most important aspects as they happen. And as the New Year rings in I vow to get my life, home and family organized and doing so in a loving and fun way while trying to do so with casual elegance. Follow my journey as I document projects, big or small.

Happy New Year
I have welcomed 2013 with wide open
arms. I can’t say that I wasn’t sad to
see 2012 pass by us for various reasons.
This will be my first post in almost a month as I found the Christmas preparations
take over both my body and mind and I’m glad to say I have finally
recovered.
Christmas recap
- 1. My coordinated Christmas wrapping and entertaining supplies were a huge hit, looking very professional and sadly I have no photos to show it put together. I will blame it on the Christmas body and mind takeover!!
- 2. Meadow Brook Christmas walk, Thanks to my dear friend Leslie who gave me the idea to make it a girls afternoon and My beautiful Mother in Law Manon, Sweet daughter Natasha and myself had a fantastic time and we have already talked about making it a Christmas tradition. We may even decide to go to Greenfield village next year for something new. I highly recommend making a new tradition for your family!
- 3. My cards actually got out this year, sorry to my dear friends and family; we did not get them out during the past 2 years. It was a great feeling when I dropped the 80th one into the box at the post office.
- Great tip: while watching TV in bed, I would fill out my cards, it made it very easy. Save your addresses and print labels.
- 4. We enjoyed a quiet but nice Christmas Eve with our dear friends the Hawkins and my Mother. Starting with a spectacular Christmas Eve service followed by appetizers, desserts and great friendship at our home.
- 5. After Christmas morning we headed to Oscoda to spend the next two days with my MIL, it was so nice and her house is always beautifully decorated. I was sad to have the time there pass too quickly….
- 6. We then were off to our cottage in Gaylord enjoying a week of skiing, playing in the snow and lots of relaxation!! On the afternoon that we were packing up the car to head home, we noticed a roof leak in the garage…….. Consequently I stayed behind to wait for the insurance adjuster and contractor to find the problem. Sadly we now have some repairs that need to be done that may not be covered by insurance……….
